30 points for Emmanuel LeSharp, Houston advanced to the 16th round

One of the highlights of the year in American sports also provides us Israelis with quite a bit of interest, and tonight (between Sunday and Monday) two representatives of Israel’s national teams from recent years took part in the last 32 stage of the college tournament. In the spotlight, Emmanuel Sharp led the Houston Cougars to a 95:100 victory (after overtime) over Texas A&M with a huge 30-point game en route to the Sweet 16. Danny Wolf’s Vale suffered a loss and were eliminated after 85:57 against San Diego.

Sharp and his friends, whose team is considered one of the favorites to win the tournament, came to the game after an easy victory in the previous stage and knew that tonight they had a more difficult task in the battle for the purity of Texas. After finishing with 13 points in the previous game, this night all belonged to the former Cadet team player, who showcased his fine offensive skills throughout the evening.

Sharp led his team with 30 points (8/16 from the field, 7/14 from three, 7/8 from the line), 3 rebounds, 2 steals, an assist and a block, on a night that was controlled by Houston for most of its length. After it already seemed like the game was over, a tremendous 3:13 run by the opponent about a minute and a half to the end, including a big 3-pointer at the buzzer, managed to force overtime.

Sharpe still managed to hit another 3-pointer in overtime before going out with five fouls, which didn’t stop his team from finishing the story on the way to getting the ticket to the next round, where they will meet Duke in a big game.

Yale and Danny Wolf, on the other hand, ended their portion of the college tournament after a one-sided loss against San Diego State. Remember, in the previous game the team of the star of the reserve team last summer managed to stun Auburn with a dramatic 76:78 victory in a great money time performance by Wolf himself.

Tonight, Wolf and his friends were no longer able to be an equal opponent to a much superior team, when already at halftime the scoreboard showed 21:45 to the opponent’s advantage. Wolff, who is finishing a tremendous season personally, finished the game with 9 points (2/8 from the field, 2/3 from three), 10 rebounds, 5 assists and a steal.
