Al-Sadd Club was crowned champion of the Emir Cup, after its victory yesterday, Friday, over Qatar Club, 1-0, in the match that took place at Education City Stadium in the final match of the 52nd edition of the tournament, in the presence of the Emir of the country, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
Al-Sadd owes its victory to its Colombian player, Matias Uribe, who scored the only goal of the match, two minutes before the end of the second overtime in the 118th minute, giving his team the title despite the numerical shortage in the ranks, after his teammate Akram Afif was sent off with a red card in the 109th minute.
