The Qatar Football Association announced – today, Saturday – the captain of the first team, Hassan Al-Haydous, has retired from international football after a long career that spanned many years with various Qatari teams.
The Qatari Federation, in a statement on its official website, thanked Hassan Al-Haydos after a great career with the Qatari national teams over 16 years, during which he achieved many achievements and titles, and was a loyal leader of Al-Annabi.
As athletes, we are proud of your achievements.
Today we bid you farewell after your retirement from international football.
We thank you for your dedication and your career with the national team, which will remain engraved in our memories and an example for future generations in the sport of football.

He said, “The Qatari Federation extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to the captain of our national team, player Hassan Al-Haydos, following his decision to retire from international football after a long career with the national teams that extended for many years.”
Hassan Al-Haydos joined the Qatari national team in 2008, and at that time he received the Most Promising Player Award from the Qatar Football Association, in addition to being named the Best Player in 2015 in the Best Awards presented annually by the Federation.

During his career with the Qatari national team, Al-Haydos played 183 international matches, during which he scored 41 goals, and he played in the World Cup finals in Qatar 2022, which witnessed the first appearance of Qatari football in the World Cup.
Al-Haydos also participated in 4 Asian Cup tournaments: Qatar 2011, Australia 2015, UAE 2019, and Qatar 2023.
In terms of achievements, Al-Haydos won the Gulf Cup in 2014 and the Asian Cup on two occasions in 2019 in the Emirates, which was the first time in the history of the Qatari national team, and last January he and his teammates succeeded in winning the second coronation.
In terms of his career with Al Sadd, Al Haydos was able to achieve many titles, most notably being crowned the 2011 AFC Champions League and third place in the Club World Cup, in addition to obtaining the Qatari League title on several occasions, as well as the Emir Cup championship.
The Al-Sadd striker will continue his career with his team, which leads the Qatar Stars League standings with 40 points after 17 rounds.
