Businessman Walid Dabbas has dominated the sports scene in recent days, following the death of Ahmed Refaat, a Modern Sport player, who passed away at dawn on Saturday, after his health deteriorated.
Walid Dabbas announces his resignation

Walid Dabbas announced, on Tuesday, three decisions, which are: his resignation from the chairmanship of the board of directors of Modern Sport due to his being subjected to defamation of his person and distortion of his statements and causing discord between him and the family of the late Ahmed Refaat, relinquishing the share owned by the previous owners and undermining them in managing and running the club’s business, and providing support to a committee formed by a decision of the Minister of Youth and Sports to investigate the circumstances of Ahmed Refaat’s departure.

Who is Walid Dabbas?
Walid Dabbas graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, and obtained a PhD in Hospital Management. He held several positions, including Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Executive Office of the Modern University for Technology and Information, Chairman of the Modern Egypt Party, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Modern Academy for Engineering and Technology.
Walid Dabbas founded the Modern Channels Network and the Egypt Journal newspaper, affiliated with the Modern Egypt Party. Recently, Dabbas bought a stake in the former Coca-Cola Club and the current Modern Sport.
