The average exchange rate of the euro against the pound rose to its highest level at the end of bank trading today, recording 52.7 pounds.
The rise in the price of the euro came after the dollar recorded a jump during bank transactions on Thursday, breaking the 50-pound barrier for the first time in its history.
The exchange rates for foreign currencies in Egypt are affected by the price of the dollar, as it is the currency most used in import transactions and the largest component of the Egyptian foreign exchange reserve.
