Ahmed Diab, head of the Clubs Association, spoke about the position of the Smouha and Pyramids match after it was cancelled due to a fire that broke out in the Alexandria Stadium.
Diab said in exclusive statements to Masrawy, today, Friday, that what happened was an “electrical short circuit” that led to a limited fire, adding: “This is a compelling circumstance that will lead to a replay of the match, and the new date for holding the match will be announced after the end of the current 28th round.”
The association president concluded his statements by saying: “The match will be replayed in its entirety from the beginning, but with the same decisions that preceded the match, such as suspending players due to expulsion or accumulation of cards.”
The match referee had shown the red card to Smouha goalkeeper El Hani Suleiman before stopping the match.
The match between Smouha and its guest Pyramids, which took place this evening in the 28th round of the league, was cancelled after a fire broke out at Alexandria Stadium.

A Masrawy correspondent from the Alexandria Stadium explained that what happened was an “electrical short circuit” in one of the lighting towers in the stadium’s main hall, followed by smoke rising, prompting stadium officials to turn off the stadium’s floodlights until the situation was dealt with.
The stadium attendees descended onto the floor while players from both teams warmed up. In preparation for the resumption of the meeting.
On the other side, an ambulance and a fire truck were present on the field.
