Days after releasing her new song “Owners of the Land,” Syrian star Asala received a series of warnings from the management of social networking sites to delete the musical video work.
Asala said that the song, in which she collaborated with the Egyptian “Acapella” band, expresses her support for the Palestinian cause.
The song is inspired by Palestinian folklore in an attempt to revive the song “Rit al-Makab,” which falls within what is known as the art of tarwaida.
