The arrest of the suspects is part of a large-scale enforcement operation led by the Aror station in recent days, during which the police raided roads and settlements throughout the Negev. The operation, called “Emergency Containment”, places an emphasis on curbing violence, harming perpetrators of crime and strengthening the residents’ sense of security.

Among other things, in a joint activity with the national motorcycle patrol, 31 traffic reports were distributed for bullying offenses on the roads, 4 vehicles were disabled for 30 days, and motorcycles were seized that were taken off the road for driving without a license. In addition to dealing with criminal incidents, the police worked in cooperation with civil authorities to carry out comprehensive economic enforcement, which led to seizures and confiscations with an estimated value of over NIS 100,000, seizing pirated electricity, closing businesses that were operating in violation of the law, and removing environmental hazards.

The commander of the southern district, Superintendent Amir Cohen, emphasized the importance of continuing the police activity: “We are here to protect the normative citizen and to target crime that threatens personal and public safety.”
