In the events of the tenth episode of House of Al-Rifai serieswhich is shown on the ON channel simultaneously with its showing on the watch it platform, within Ramadan 2024 dramaYassin, “Amir Karara,” returns the gun to “Seed,” and he replies to him, “I can’t sleep unless the person is under my pillow,” and Yassin comments on his words, “Are you tired?”
The revenge that was talked about in House of Al-Rifai series The tenth episode is when the blood guardians (relatives of the dead man) kill the killer himself or kill one of his relatives in revenge for themselves, without leaving the state the right to administer legal retribution. Murder, according to tribal customs, could either be the result of a provoked shock, for example: “Two people were standing in the market, and the first insulted the second, and a quarrel broke out between them, and the first killed the second.” Or it could be the result of a shameful order, what some tribes call “black blemish” or “leprosy,” meaning a man kills his walking companion. Or he kills his relative, or he kills his companion (whoever shares food with him), or he kills a woman or a child, as the Yemeni tribes are familiar with.
The phenomenon of revenge is considered one of the most dangerous social phenomena that human societies have suffered from, and it is as old as human existence on earth. It is considered one of the most dangerous things that threaten the safety, security and tranquility of societies, and it is also considered the first enemy of growth and development. This phenomenon is one of the most complex and difficult phenomena affecting the life of Yemeni society, and it is considered one of the worst inherited social customs that threaten security and social peace, hinder the development process in the country, and lead to the shedding of the blood of many innocent people and the outbreak of many wars and tribal disputes. Therefore, it has become necessary to study this problem with a serious scientific study that embodies the state’s strong will and serious directions to address and reduce this phenomenon and establish security and stability throughout the country.
This phenomenon is widespread in tribal societies, which are characterized by strong tribal fanaticism. Among these societies are the Arab tribes in general, which are spread throughout all the lands of the great Arab world. This phenomenon increases as the manifestations of the tribe’s presence increase. Among the most clear models in this field are the Yemeni society and the society of Upper Egypt.
Islam’s position on revenge
God Almighty has set punishments for hudud crimes and retaliation, and has not left people to estimate them. Due to its importance. He made all people equal. There is no difference between people, their ranks, and their destinies. They are equal. There is no difference between the lowly or the honorable, the rich or the poor, according to the Almighty’s saying: “Retaliation for the slain is prescribed upon you, the free for the free, and the slave for the slave.” All heavenly laws stipulate the punishment of death, so there is no way for us to get rid of this punishment because it will embody the repercussions of temptation according to the Almighty’s saying: “And for you there is life in retaliation, O you of understanding.”
The other matter: What indicates the seriousness of this phenomenon is that blood is the first matter that God Almighty will judge among the people on the Day of Resurrection, and this indicates that this blood is sacred, and the Messenger (may God bless him and grant him peace) says: “The first thing that will be judged among the people on the Day of Resurrection.” In the blood.
God Almighty has threatened the one who committed it with eternity in Hell, and he has no repentance. This is according to some jurists who said: There is no repentance for the murderer intentionally and aggressively, and among them is Ibn Abbas, who said: Because this verse was the last of the verses to be revealed of the Holy Qur’an, so no abrogator has been found for it, and the verse It is: “And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell to abide therein, and God has become angry with him and cursed him, and has prepared for him a great punishment.”
This issue is referred to and confirmed by the saying of the Prophet (may God’s prayers and peace be upon him): “All sins may be forgiven by God, except for a man who kills a believer intentionally, or a man who dies as an unbeliever.” And his (may God bless him and grant him peace) said: “The disappearance of the world is easier for God than the unjust killing of a Muslim.”
