Counselor Mohamed Abdel Moati, head of the committee supervising the elections of the General Syndicate of Lawyers, confirmed that the committee is continuing to receive the results of the counting of voters’ votes in the syndicate’s elections from the subcommittees, adding that it is likely that the syndicate’s results will be announced tomorrow, Sunday.
Counselor Mohamed Abdel Moaty added, in statements to Al-Youm Al-Sabea, that the committee did not observe any violations or obstacles that followed the electoral process, indicating that the electoral process proceeded regularly.
On Saturday evening, the committee supervising the Bar Association elections began counting the votes of voters in the Bar Association elections, which were held today for the seat of the president and members of the Bar Association Council.
In the elections of the General Syndicate of Lawyers, 15 candidates competed for the position of captain, and 253 candidates for membership seats, including 30 candidates for the legal departments seat, 115 candidates for the Cairo Appeals seat, 19 candidates for the Tanta Appeals seat, 21 candidates for the Mansoura Appeals seat, and 16 candidates. For the Alexandria appeal seat, 10 for the Ismailia appeal seat, 18 for the Beni Suef appeal seat, 17 for the Assiut appeal seat, and 7 for the Qena appeal seat.
The number of ballot box committees nationwide reached 488, affiliated with 37 sub-unions nationwide, and the number of voters whose names were registered in the lists reached 322,152 members.
The committee supervising the elections announced that voting begins at nine in the morning and ends at five in the evening, and the counting of votes will not begin until the quorum is confirmed, which is the presence of three thousand lawyers or one-third of the Elections Assembly, whichever is less.
