Childish Gambino Announces Australian Leg Of ‘New World’ Tour | Purple Sneakers

More Childish Gambino More Childish Gambino

Childish Gambino has announced the Australian leg of his New World tour, slating four enormous shows on the itinerary for next February.

Marking his first visit Down Under since 2019 (when he headlined Splendour In The Grass), Donald Glover’s latest tour of Australia will begin on Saturday February 1, when he headlines the Brisbane Entertainment Centre (Meanjin). He’ll head to Sydney (Eora) next, performing at Qudos Bank Arena on Tuesday February 4, before taking over Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne (Naarm) that Friday (February 7). Finally, he’ll wrap things up with a show at Perth’s (Boorloo) RAC Arena on Tuesday February 11.

Joining Glover for all dates of the run will be Ghanaian-American pop phenom Amaarae, with this tour marking her first time performing to Australian fans.

Tickets go on sale next Monday at 11am local time in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, and 1pm in Melbourne. There will be three chances to grab tickets before then, however, starting with a presale for American Express customers that kicks off this Thursday (May 16) at 9am in Sydney and Brisbane, 10am in Perth and 12pm in Melbourne. Also kicking off this Thursday will be a presale for Glover’s own fans (via this mailing list), which starts at 11am in Sydney and Brisbane, 1pm in Perth and 3pm in Melbourne.

Finally, there will be a presale for Frontier Touring members this Friday (May 17), starting at the same respective times as the American Express sale. Head here for all more comprehensive info on all ticket sales.

The tour comes in support of ATAVISTA, a newly reworked edition of Glover’s fourth album as Childish Gambino, 3.15.20 (or its “finished version”, as the artist puts it), which arrived earlier today (May 13) as a surprise release.

Alongside the release, Glover teased that a brand new Childish Gambino album – supposedly the very last project he’ll release under the moniker, dubbed “a soundtrack for the fans” when he first spoke of it last month – will be released in the North American summer (winter for us Down Under).
