Al-Taawoun first football team enters the eleventh challenge against Al-Khaleej in the Saudi Professional League, when it hosts it on Friday, in the third round at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Buraidah.
The two teams had previously met before Friday’s match on 10 occasions, with Al-Sukari winning 3 of them, Al-Dana winning twice, and a draw in 5 matches.
The last match between the two sides ended in a 1-1 draw, in the 28th round of last season’s competitions, in the match hosted by Al-Taawoun Stadium in Buraidah.
Al-Taawoun prepared to resume the Saudi Roshen League, losing last Friday at home to Al-Najma (First Division) in a friendly match that ended 2-3, during which Argentine Rodolfo Arruabarrena, the coach of “Al-Sukari”, fielded two different formations during the two halves, starting with the reserves and concluding with the starters.
On the other hand, Al-Khaleej prepared its team players during the break by winning a friendly match against Al-Jubail (First Division) 5-1.
The two teams suffered two losses in the last round after winning the opening round, as Al-Taawoun beat Al-Fayha 1-0 and lost to Al-Ittihad 1-2, while Al-Khaleej beat Damak 1-0 and lost to Al-Shabab 1-2.
