In an exclusive, Entertainment Weekly has revealed the first images from the Beetlejuice reboot from director Tim Burton – marking the first glimpse of the production set to land in theaters this September.
The title of the film, a play on the thrice-called summons of Michael Keaton’s character, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will see the return of original cast members in Keaton along with Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara revisiting their roles as Delia and Lydia Deetz respectively.
Additionally the latest film will see the inclusion of new cast mates in Jenna Ortega of Wednesday fame as Astrid Deetz as well as Justin Theroux, Monica Belluci, William Dafoe making for an all-star ensemble.
While the details of the film are still being kept under wraps, Burton explained to The Hollywood Reporter that the film revolves around the Ryder’s character of Lydia Deetz as the focus of three generations of Deetz women. In fact, it’s Lydia that is said to bring back Beetlejuice – in an effort to stabaiize the real world in the afterlife.
The arrival of the film arrives more than 35 years after the theatric release of the original film. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice lands in theaters September 6th. See the initial production images below.
