The Palestinian Football Association announced the right to represent Wissam Abu Ali, the Al-Ahly club striker, for the Palestine national team during the coming period.
The Palestinian Football Association had submitted a request to grant Wissam Abu Ali the right to represent the Palestinian national team “based on his desire.”
Al-Ahly club previously announced on January 11 that it had signed a contract with Wissam Abu Ali, a Danish player of Palestinian origins, for a period of 4 and a half years, coming from the Swedish club Sirius. He has played 3 matches with him so far, during which he scored two goals.
The 25-year-old represented the Denmark U-21 national team in one match, which was on March 25, 2019, and was played against the Romania national team.

The Player Affairs Committee of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) issued a decision declaring the eligibility of player Wissam Abu Ali to represent our national team.
This decision came based on the request submitted by the Palestinian Football Association, and Wissam Abu Ali’s desire and request to change his federation from Danish to Palestinian.

For his part, Wissam Abu Ali commented on that decision, saying: “I am proud and honored to represent the Palestinian national team. This will be for the sake of all Palestinians.”
Wissam Abu Ali’s first match with Palestine
If the Palestinian national team calls up Wissam Abu Ali during the upcoming international break, he will participate with the guerrilla team in the matches between Lebanon and Australia.
The Palestine national team will host the Lebanon match on June 6th, while it will host the Australian national team on the 11th of the same month.
