FilGoal | News | Kahraba: I did not interfere in Imam Ashour’s transfer to Al-Ahly.. and “I felt that I was assigned a job in Zamalek.”

Kahraba celebrates his goal against Modern Future – Egyptian Super Cup

Mahmoud Abdel Moneim Kahraba, Al-Ahly player, stressed that he did not interfere in the transfer of Imam Ashour to the Red Team.

Kahraba also adhered to his colleague Emam Ashour’s artistic advantage over Abdullah Al-Saeed, the star of Zamalek.

Kahraba was a guest on the Ink Serri program on the Cairo Wal Nas channel and said, “Imam Ashour is my brother and an addition to any team, but I did not convince him to move to Al-Ahly. He asked for my opinion and I gave him advice, and thank God he succeeded and became the best player in Egypt.”

He continued, “Abdullah Al-Saeed is a great player, but Imam Ashour is better than him. The age factor and the current technical level qualifies Ashour to play in Europe.”

Kahraba mentioned earlier that the deal to transfer Imam Ashour to Al-Ahly is technically better than Zamalek’s contract with Abdullah Al-Saeed. (See details)

Imam Ashour joined Al-Ahly at the beginning of the current season, coming from Danish club Midtjylland, whom he signed in January 2023 from Zamalek.

Regarding his previous period with Zamalek, Kahraba said, “I felt that I was supposed to work with Zamalek. The atmosphere was empty and very wasteful.”

Kahraba played with Zamalek between the years 2015-2019, winning two Egyptian Cup titles and the Confederation Championship title.

Kahraba moved to Al-Ahly in January 2020 and won 11 titles, most notably 3 African Champions League titles.
