Yka Bayol, score: 7
The Slovenian stopper played well and cleared many balls, but the defensive excellence has to be shared by the majority of Slovenia’s back
Jude Bellingham, score: 4
Almost did not win the fights, lost many balls and did not produce anything in attack. A disappointing game like no other from Bellingham
The English soccer team is called the “Three Lions team” with a name that should be a deterrent to opponents, but it seems that the Lions are asleep for the time being. Gareth Southgate’s players ended another disappointing game with a 0:0 against Slovenia, and although they qualified for the round of 16, they should be worried about the rest.
First of all the bottom line – the average ability was enough for the first place and the English can take solace in that. On the other hand, the Slovenians came away satisfied with the game when, thanks to the point, they secured their place as one of the four teams that will qualify for the eighth place from third place.
And there was also a game, but unfortunately there isn’t too much to refer to. England controlled the pace and encountered a stubborn defense and a correct tactical stance of the Slovenian team that prevented the Three Lions team from getting close to the goal.
The main event that did happen in the game occurred in the 20th minute when Bokayo Saka curled from close to the net, but the goal was disallowed due to an early clearance by Phil Foden. From there the game went on without any significant incidents in front of the goal and the teams parted in a zero draw.
