Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic, advisor to the president of Italian club AC Milan, revealed his unfulfilled desire to be “a player who competes in the Olympics and wins medals.”
“Of course I will be the best in all football sports and martial arts,” Ibrahimovic said in an interview on the sidelines of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games published by the New York Times.
“I was quick on my feet and moved well. I had the advantage of being 1.97 metres tall, but I moved like a 1.60-metre man. That’s why I was a natural monster,” added the 42-year-old, who earned a black belt in taekwondo as a child.
“I’m not trying to impress you, these are facts, I love the adrenaline of taekwondo, I love the fights, I need to feel alive, that’s the only thing I miss about football (after retiring), it’s not so much about playing football, what I miss sometimes is the feeling.”
He concluded: “Imagine that you are in front of 80,000 people. If you are very small, you become big. Imagine if you can make those 80,000 people cheer or if you can make them cry. That is what I was.”
