Dr. Ali Gomaa, the former Mufti of Egypt and Chairman of the Religious Affairs Committee in the House of Representatives, answered a question from a student, which read: Is a young man’s relationship with a girl outside of marriage considered forbidden?
Dr. Ali Jumaa said, during an episode of the “Nour El-Din” program, broadcast on Channel One, on Tuesday: “You say the phrase outside the scope of marriage. This phrase is wrong, because if a boy talks to a girl, the whole society is not talking. The word relationship in the language means that there is a meeting. There is a smile between the two sides, there is peace, and after peace there remains a kiss.”
He added: “This relationship means that they agreed to run away from their families in order to get married, and this means the eraser in all aspects. They do not have a dowry, network, apartment, or alimony, nor are they prepared for this chastity that occurs after marriage, and if there are present intentions such as luring, it remains forbidden and is not called chastity.” However, if there were questions between the two parties, for example: My colleague took the lecture booklet from her and started complaining to me about some of the conditions she was going through in her family. This is considered to have happened throughout history, but its basis was chastity.
The student, the former Mufti of the Republic, interrupted during his speech: “Is it useful to love a girl, talk to her, and keep her, so that when we grow up we can marry her?” Jumah responded: It is useful to love her, and it is useful to love all of creation, and it is not useful to talk to her and keep her.. The issue is very simple: is there chastity or not? ?
Dr. Ali Jumaa concluded, saying: Why does the one who loves say he is afraid that he will be lured, but if he turns to himself and it is clear in his mind, he will walk. If his chastity begins to shake, you will withdraw immediately.
