It seems that the crisis that has been hitting the union in the last few hours is real and serious, and not just a storm in a teacup, as the matter did not stop at the resignation of President Louay Nazer, but rather extended to include another man.
Nazer had returned to the presidency of the Jeddah club, succeeding Anmar Al-Haili, as he won the seat by acclamation, to lead the club’s non-profit organization for one season, but news is talking about his resignation after disagreements with officials in the Ministry of Sports regarding the contracting file and the problem that occurred with the French striker Karim Benzema, who refused the club’s contract with Stefano Pioli and preferred his compatriot Christophe Galtier.
The Saudi newspaper Al-Madina explained that Abdullah Al-Salem, the vice president of the union, also submitted his resignation from his position and will not be part of the new management of the club.
Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper had confirmed that Nazer had submitted his resignation to the Ministry of Sports, noting that the ministry had not accepted it until the club’s board of directors confirmed the content of the resignation, and whether it was collective or individual, as it pertained to the president alone?
It is noteworthy that no official body has confirmed the resignation of the president or his deputy, but press sources confirm that the two men have already submitted it, with some talking about attempts to find solutions to end this crisis.
