“Karim Abdel Aziz”: Ahmed Zaki lost his sight in his last days

Books – Ahmed Adel

The star Karim Abdel Aziz said that he considers himself a member of the school of the late artist Ahmed Zaki, who appeared opposite him in his debut movie “Laugh, the Picture Looks Beautiful.”

He added during television statements: “I have the honor to have worked with Professor Ahmed Zaki, and I believe that this actor will not be repeated in Egypt.”

He continued: “I remember when he was in the hospital and tired in his last days, and Imad Adeeb’s professor was with him in the hospital, and Ahmed Zaki had gone blind at the end, and he would ask Imad Adeeb and tell him when I went out, I would play one blind role for me.”

Karim Abdel Aziz recalled the moment he stood in front of Ahmed Zaki as an actor, saying: “The first shot I didn’t know how to speak, and Sherif Arafa, with the intelligence of the director, chose a scene in which I remained tense. It was my scene of me walking forward and asking for his daughter’s hand, and when I looked in Ahmed Zaki’s eyes, the letters did not want to come out, and I told Sherif Arafa I want to go as an assistant director and watch the film.”

Karim Abdel Aziz pointed out the features that distinguished Ahmed Zaki’s acting by saying: “Awe, horror, reincarnation, details, and internal and external makeup of the character, he and the great Sanaa Jamil.”

It is noteworthy that Karim Abdel Aziz will present his series “The Assassins” in the Ramadan 2024 season, in which he embodies the role of Hassan al-Sabah, the founder and leader of the “Assassins” group, which was famous in the eleventh century AD for carrying out bloody assassinations of important figures, and its name used to strike terror into the hearts of Muslims and Christians. Either way.
