Since announcing that she had cancer and undergoing chemotherapy last March, Princess Kate Middleton has been careful to stay away from the eyes of the press and does not meet the public in public.
Despite the isolation she is experiencing for the purpose of treatment, the Princess of Wales was recently spotted with her family carrying out simple solo tasks, according to a source for PEOPLE magazine.
The source confirmed that the task force of the Royal Early Childhood Foundation published a new report on the Princess of Wales’ initiative, which encourages companies to create appropriate conditions to help parents and their children, and part of its royal work focused on the importance of the first five years of a child’s life.
He added: “Princess Kate remains fully informed of the progress of the project and follows up on all its details, but this does not mean at all that she has returned to exercising her royal duties.”
In addition, sources from within the Royal Palace confirm that Kate is not expected to return to her previous work and royal duties before she obtains full permission to do so from her medical team.
Although Princess Kate has said that she “should focus on making a full recovery”, she may participate in some events when she feels able.
Elsa Anderson, Queen Elizabeth’s former spokeswoman, told PEOPLE that Kate “has inner strength and good morale, and the support of her husband, Prince William, and her family, so she can step away from social royal duties and focus on what’s most important: reclaiming her power.”
Those close to the princess say they have every hope that when she is ready, she will come back stronger than ever.
Prince William had spoken about his wife during a visit to a hospital in the Isles of Scilly, and assured the nurses that she was in good health.
