Mabrouk Attia: Parents have the right to search their children’s phones.. “Openness is a disappointment and a loss.”

Dr. Mabrouk Attia, former Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies at Al-Azhar University, said that parents have the right to search their children’s phones, citing the hadith of the Messenger, peace be upon him, “You and your money belong to your father.”

During an interview with the “On the Stage” program with journalist Mona Abdel Wahab, which was broadcast on the “Oula” channel on Egyptian television on Thursday evening, he refused to consider this behavior as an assault and a violation of the children’s privacy, saying: “The father and mother have the right to search their children’s mobile phones. This is my son or my daughter, and this is my son or my daughter.” In addition to his privacy, you know that he has a father.”

He responded to the dissenting opinions calling for freedoms and not to intrude into children’s lives or attack their personal freedom, especially in light of the “openness” and major changes the world is witnessing at all levels, saying: “It is open to disappointment, loss, failure, and the high cost of living. I wish it was closed and people still respected it.” Some of what happened to the children, women and men of Gaza did not happen.”

He stressed the importance of the mother’s role in raising children, considering that the mother is responsible for the son’s attachment to his father, saying: “We do not love the father except through the mother, when she used to tell us that your father is miserable and tired and works on the land, and eats everything we need until your father returns.”

Attia criticized some mothers who overexploit their freedom, especially if she is a wife, saying: “As long as the mother sees that she is independent and free when she is a wife and has a mobile phone that speaks to her, the Eastern, the Western, the trivial, the deviant, the religious, and all the colors of the spectrum, and she is free, I am sorry, I don’t know her.”
