Today, Thursday, an Egyptian court issued a one-year suspended prison sentence against the Al-Ahly Football Club player Hussein Al-Shahat In the case of his accusation of assaulting Moroccan Mohamed El-Sheibi, a player for the Pyramids club.
The court also ruled to fine Al-Shahat an amount of 100,000 Egyptian pounds (about 2,100 dollars) and prohibit him from practicing any sporting activity for 5 years.
The government newspaper Al-Ahram said: “Today, Thursday, the Nasr City Misdemeanor Court ruled that Al-Ahly club player Hussein Al-Shahat be punished with one-year suspended imprisonment, deprived of any sporting activity for 5 years, and 100,000 pounds in compensation.”
She explained that the ruling was issued against the backdrop of “the incident of his accusation of assaulting Peramither Club player Mohamed Al-Shaibi, of Moroccan nationality, during the match that brought together their two teams at the Air Defense Stadium last year.”
Hussein Al-Shahat assaulted Muhammad Al-Shaibi
The cameras recorded Al-Shahat assaulting Al-Shaibi with a “slap” following Al-Ahly’s 3-0 loss to Pyramids, in a win-win match, after the Red Team won the Premier League title on July 23 last year.
After the incident, the prosecution heard from Muhammad Al-Shaibi in a report in which he accused Al-Shahat of assaulting him by beating and insulting him.
The investigations revealed, based on what was stated in the report: “The defendant, the player Hussein El-Shahat, the Al-Ahly club player, committed crimes of beating, cursing, slandering, and insulting the complainant, Mohamed El-Shahat, the Pyramids club player, and his mother.”
The report added, “As a result of these actions, the complainant was inflicted with severe physical, material, and psychological damage through the spread of many videos on social media of the assault incident.”
