Reuters: Deaths in an Israeli strike on a house in Rafah

Gaza health officials told Reuters that an Israeli strike targeted a house in Rafah on Thursday, killing at least 12 Palestinians.

On Wednesday, dozens of Palestinians were killed in intense Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip, which is besieged and threatened with famine, while clashes took place between the Israeli army and Hamas fighters near three hospitals.

The Israeli army said, on Wednesday, that its planes bombed “dozens of targets,” which it described as “tunnels, military complexes, and terrorist infrastructure.”

He said that he is continuing his operations in Khan Yunis, especially the Al-Amal Hospital area, which he closed after evacuating the employees and patients.

The Ministry of Health said that the army stormed the Nasser Medical Complex, which was surrounded by tanks in Khan Yunis, and asked, via loudspeakers, hundreds of displaced people and medical personnel to leave the hospital towards Rafah, “amid gunfire and air strikes.”

An army spokesman said, “We did not enter Nasser Hospital. We are carrying out operations in the area.”

The war broke out following an attack launched by Hamas on southern Israel on October 7, which, according to Israeli figures, killed more than 1,160 people, most of them civilians. About 250 people were also kidnapped at that time, 130 of whom are still hostage in Gaza, and 34 of them are believed to have died.

In response to this unprecedented attack, Israel pledged to “eliminate” Hamas and launched a large-scale military operation in the Gaza Strip, which, according to the Hamas Ministry of Health, resulted in the deaths of 32,490 people and the wounding of 74,889, most of whom were children and women.
