Seven ACC Players Chosen in 2024 NBA Draft

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheACC.com) – Seven Atlantic Coast Conference men’s basketball players were selected in the 2024 NBA Draft, including three on Thursday in the second round. Six ACC schools had at least one draft pick, with two Duke players being selected.

This marks the 15th time in the last 16 seasons in which at least seven ACC players were selected in the NBA Draft. The ACC has had 142 draft picks since 2009, most of any conference.

Duke sophomore center Kyle Filipowski was chosen with the second pick in the second round, No. 32 overall, by the Utah Jazz. North Carolina graduate forward Harrison Ingram was taken 48th overall by the San Antonio Spurs, while Boston College senior center Quinten Post was chosen 52nd overall by the Golden State Warriors.

On Wednesday, Pitt freshman guard Carlton “Bub” Carrington was the first ACC player taken off the board as a lottery pick, going No. 14 overall by the Washington Wizards via a proposed trade with the Portland Trail Blazers. He became Pitt’s fourth-ever lottery pick.

It marked the 16th straight year in which the ACC had a lottery selection. The ACC now has had 36 lottery selections over the last 16 years.

With four first-round selections, the ACC tied for the most picks by any conference this season. The ACC extended its streak with at least one first-round selection to 36 consecutive years, dating back to the 1989 draft.

Duke freshman guard Jared McCain was selected No. 16 overall by the Philadelphia 76ers. Miami freshman guard Kyshawn George was taken with the 24th pick by the Washington Wizards via a proposed trade with the New York Knicks.

Virginia sophomore forward Ryan Dunn was chosen with the 28th pick by the Phoenix Suns via a proposed trade with the Denver Nuggets.
