Shiloh Jolie-Pitt Files Petition To Change Her Last Name on 18th Birthday

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Shiloh has filed a petition to change her last name.

Two sources familiar with the matter told NBC News that Shiloh Jolie-Pitt filed a petition on her 18th birthday, which was May 27, to drop “Pitt” from her surname.

The teenager wants to legally go by Shiloh Jolie, per NBC News. NBC News has not reviewed the legal documents.

NBC News reached out to representatives for Pitt and Jolie for comment but did not hear back by the time of publication.

In 2023, the former couple’s daughter Zahara also publicly dropped “Pitt” from her name when she formally joined her sorority at Spelman College, Essence reported.

The divorce between Jolie and Pitt, who share six children, has proved a contentious court battle since their 2016 split. Though the divorce has not yet been finalized, Pitt and Jolie were granted a “bifurcated judgement” in 2019, stating that they’re both legally single.

Jolie filed for divorce in 2016 after accusing Pitt of choking one of their children during a private flight that same year. Pitt was subsequently investigated by the Los Angeles County Department of Child and Family Services and cleared of any physical abuse allegations, NBC News reported.

The two have an ongoing legal battle over their French property, Chateau Miraval Winery, which they purchased in 2008 and got married at in 2014.

Jolie was previously married to Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton. Pitt was first married to Jennifer Aniston.
