Son Har Melek about the Merhat women who were attacked in Yosh: “This is not an Israeli family, it could be espionage”

Member of Knesset Limor Son Har Melech (Otzma Yehudit) referred this morning (Sunday) during a hearing in the Constitution Committee to the attack on the Arab-Israeli women from Mehrat in the Givat Ronan outpost last Friday and claimed that “such an innocent event could be an event of espionage and information gathering”.

During the committee’s discussion on the investigation of the fighters who allegedly killed a terrorist in Nocha, on October 7, MK Gilad Karib (Labor) accused Israel of turning a blind eye to violent phenomena. “This is reflected in Givat Ronan, an illegal outpost, In an Israeli family from Mahrat that was severely attacked, there was an attempt to lynch them by the residents of the outpost. So far no arrests have been made,” he said. Karib attacked the fact that no one condemned the incident. “This is moral bankruptcy, anti-Jewish, anti-Zionist.”

“You have no idea what was there,” Son Har Melech said. “This is not about any Israeli family. Any such attempt, to paint as if there was one or another event there… when a vehicle enters and we understand the danger, and we know the scenarios. So there are no compromises in such things.” She further claimed that “there is a possibility that such an innocent incident could be an incident of information gathering, an incident of espionage.”

As I recall, last Friday, four women from Mahrat and a three-year-old girl were attacked when they accidentally entered the “Givat Ronan” outpost in Samaria with their vehicle. The residents threw stones at them and set their car on fire, the incident ended without arrests.
