Marc-André ter Stegen is very much part of Barça history, and against Mallorca this Friday he has become just the third goalkeeper ever to make 400 appearances for the club. The only stoppers to have previously reached the landmark have been Víctor Valdés (535 in total) and Andoni Zubizarreta (410).
That means in just ten games time, the German will move up to second place in the all-time appearances list for FC Barcelona goalies.
It’s happened in what’s been a difficult season for Ter Stegen, who was out for almost three months after undergoing back surgery in December. But now he’s back to complete what will hopefully be another tremendous campaign between the blaugrana sticks.
Most games in the squad
He is now ranked 17th in the club’s all-time appearances list, and should fly up the chart very soon for all of Rifé (402), Alexanko (403) and Segarra (405) can be topped in the coming weeks. The former Mönchengladbach keeper is also the current player with the most games in his account, with Sergi Roberto thirty or so games behind in second.
