“Gulf 26” is the fourth tournament held under the umbrella of the Arabian Gulf Cup Federation, with the participation of 8 teams, namely (Kuwait “the host”, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the Sultanate of Oman, Bahrain, the Emirates, Iraq, and Yemen).
The Gulf Cup tournament will be held in two groups: Each group includes 4 teams, with the winner and runner-up qualifying for the semi-finals, then the final match, which will be held on January 3, 2025.
The Iraqi team was crowned champion of the last edition of the 25th Gulf Cup, for the fourth time in its history, after defeating the Sultanate of Oman with a score of (3-2), in a final that extended into extra time.
The second group will witness a confrontation in the nature of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, between the teams of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, who are in the third group in the third round, where the two teams tied 0-0 in the fourth round at the Radiant Jewel Stadium.
The Kuwaiti team is the most crowned team in the Arabian Gulf Cup, with 10 titles, and Iraq is in the historical runner-up with 4 titles, then Saudi Arabia and Qatar with 3 championships, the Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman with two championships, then Bahrain with a single title, while the Yemeni team is the only one that has not won any title.
