Kuala Lumpur, November 4 (QNA) – The Asian Football Confederation has set next Thursday as the date for drawing the official draw for the finals of the AFC U-20 Championship in the Chinese city of Shenzhen.
The Federation stated in a statement today that the draw for the 42nd edition of the qualifying tournament for the 2025 World Youth Cup finals will be held among 16 teams that qualified through the qualifiers that concluded last month.
Among the teams participating in the tournament, 12 of them are seeking to win the cup again, including the South Korean team, which holds the record with 12 titles, and which is seeking to win the thirteenth title and the first since 2012, along with the Uzbekistan team, which held the title of the last edition in 2017. 2023.
Three teams: Thailand, Kyrgyzstan and Yemen are seeking to qualify for the World Championship for the first time in their history.
The 16 teams were distributed into four levels according to their classification in the 2023 edition, with China at the top of the classification as the host country, as follows: First level: China, Uzbekistan, Iraq, and Japan.
The second level includes South Korea, Australia, Iran, and Jordan. Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Kyrgyzstan come in the third level. While the fourth level includes Qatar, Thailand, Yemen, and North Korea.
