Sayed Abdel Hafeez Najm, the former director of football at Al-Ahly Club, refuted many pieces of evidence in response to the statements of Ahmed Afifi, a Zamalek fan and football analyst, regarding some controversial historical events between the two poles, the most prominent of which were as follows:
“Zamalek’s withdrawal at the present time is incomprehensible. If Zizou Kahf’s penalty kick had been scored, would Zamalek have issued the same statement?”
“Zamalek is demanding that the first round be finished before the second round matches? It itself broke this rule by facing Smouha, Al Masry, Al Bank and Future in the second round, while it has not faced Mahalla Municipality and Talaea El Gaish in the first round yet.”
“During the era of Hassan Hamdy, Zamalek won the league 3 times in 4 years, and that was the only time in its history. How did it serve the interests of Al-Ahly?”
“If you object to Hassan Hamdy assuming the presidency of Al-Ahly and Al-Ahram together, then one year the president of Zamalek was the same as the president of the Football Association.”
“The idea of postponements is not always in Al-Ahly’s favor. In the 2021 league, Ahmed Megahed advised Zamalek to play all its matches to exhaust Al-Ahly.”
“Afifi talked about Al-Ahly’s postponements in the 2019 season, even though we were under a lot of pressure and we were playing a match every 3 days. However, at the end of the league, Zamalek had 5 matches remaining compared to only 2 matches for Al-Ahly.”
“Yes, when Mahmoud Taher’s council was dissolved, he returned and was appointed again. “Are you holding me accountable for being stubborn?” I know how to take my rights.”
