The Social Security Department announces that thousands of workers will be covered by social security during the first half of 2024

The Department of Retirement and Social Security for Workers in the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced today, Thursday, that 3,500 workers will be covered by optional security, more than 400,000 workers will be covered by cumulative social security, and 500 other workers will be covered by optional security during the first half of 2024.

The department said in a statement, a copy of which was received by NRT Arabic, that “many retirement transactions were completed for workers and projects covered by social security for the period from 1-2-2024 to 6-1-2024, as nearly (3,500) workers were included in optional security, (443,215) workers, and (82,285) projects were included in cumulative social security, in addition to insuring (52,954) new workers, while the new guaranteed projects amounted to (5,170) projects.”

She added: “More than (42) billion and a half dinars were disbursed as salaries to (20,842) retired workers, (717) retirement transactions were completed in Baghdad and the governorates, (622) decisions were issued by the Service Addition and Addition Division, and nearly (7) billion dinars were collected.” debts after conducting (1,163) executive visits to a number of different projects.

She continued: “The department also granted (100) thousand dinars to insured workers, and completed the preparation of instructions for the new retirement and social security law, which has entered into force, and sent them to the State Council for the purpose of approval, as well as the preparation of the five-year strategic plan for the period from (2024-2028). And launching the ‘Dhamanati’ service via (Ur platform) to request enrollment in voluntary retirement and recalculation of the retirement salary.”
