Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho revealed his business strategy that led him to achieve 26 championships with many major clubs in the world.
Speaking during the Digital Stability Summit (Sync) held at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture “Ithra”, Mourinho said: “In my career, I always understand the club in which I work, its capabilities, and the paths to success, and I work on the positives that I have, which are many.”
He added: “I created myself on the field. I won 26 titles on the field and not on social media. I do not want to prefer one championship over another that I achieved in my career so as not to embarrass the supporters of this or that club.”
Mourinho was asked about coaching Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid, and he commented: “I coach a team, not players. A star of this size has his value, but in the end I have to provide the atmosphere for the team’s success, and this is my path.”
He continued: “I cannot accurately follow players’ bad behavior, such as staying up late, and its impact, but the measure is what they will present on the field, and I also ask them to change many of their behaviors and how they deal with others and with the public, especially in big clubs, and to tolerate criticism.”
He concluded: “I try to isolate myself from social media to stay away from being influenced. My advice to the players is to give everything you have on the field, as there is no room for lying. I always ask them to separate their private lives from their lives in football, and this is not often found among young players.”
