Anti-Semitism throughout the world and Europe in particular is on the rise and last night (Thursday) the Israeli MMA fighter Haim Gozali also experienced a worrying incident. The fighter who participates in battles around the world faced an assassination attempt against him last night before a fight he won in Ukraine, after which he was smuggled to the border.
Gozli shared with ONE: “We went to the battle in Ukraine. We arrived at the hotel, an hour goes by and then there are frantic knocks on the doors. I hear coach Ben El Hasid shouting, I went out, I see someone with a knife and Ben El in front of him. I ran to him, the guy suddenly takes a gun out of a bag and starts shooting at us from point blank range.”
“My son Elad and I ran to Elad’s room, son El left the hotel, the guy came after us to the room shooting, I locked the door and he is trying to break in. We left the window on a tin roof without clothes and with crazy rain. “Ben Al calls and tells me ‘the police are on their way,’ for more than two hours we are like hostages on the roof,” added Gozli.
“A YMM force arrived and made a journey with him, and in the meantime we were rescued from the roof. All our rooms were destroyed, our phones were taken. The police evacuated us to the hotel, after the competition they brought security guards, after I finished the fight they put us in a security car and straight to the Romanian border. Now I’m in Romania, at least I won the fight.”
Gozli added: “The police tried to silence the incident and did not let us stay in the country, they immediately took us out. Since the beginning of the war, over 100 inflammatory videos have been made about me in the Muslim world, many of them fighters, so that they will know that I am going to fight in the event. At the moment I haven’t arrived in Israel yet.”
