Tunisia defeats New Zealand and takes third place in the Egyptian Capital Cup

The Tunisian national team won third place in the Egyptian Capital Cup after defeating the New Zealand national team on penalties, 4-2, in the match that was held at the Cairo International Stadium, in the third and fourth place match in the tournament.

The Tunisia national team was defeated by the Croatia national team in the semi-final match on penalty kicks with a score of 5-4, while the Egyptian national team defeated New Zealand 1-0.

The 90 minutes were not enough to decide the match, and it went to penalty kicks, which in the end smiled at the Tunisian national team, claiming third place in the first edition of the Egyptian Capital Cup.

The match witnessed the presence of Zamalek club duo Hamza Mathlouthi and Saif El-Din Al-Jaziri on the bench without participating for a single minute in that match.

The match referee also showed a red card to Elias Achouri, the Tunisian player, and Liberato Kakas, the New Zealand player, in the 90th minute + 3.

Tunisia suffered a penalty shootout in the semi-final match against Croatia after losing 5-4.
