The fans raised a giant banner bearing the image of Kroos in the stands of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, and they also welcomed the German star with warm applause and supportive chants.

Real Madrid and Real Betis players prepared a pass of honor for the 34-year-old, who ended a 10-year journey with the Merengue, during which he won all possible titles.

Kroos wrote on his Instagram account before the match: “One last time… Santiago Bernabeu.”

Real Madrid won the Spanish League title this season, also won the local Super Cup, and is preparing to face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final next June 1 at Wembley Stadium.
