Mohamed Salah scored Liverpool’s victory over Brighton & Hove Albion, after coming back from a goal down to win 2-1, to lead the English Premier League before the anticipated confrontation between Manchester City and Arsenal later on Sunday.
With this victory, Liverpool’s tally rises to 67 points at the top, with a difference of 3 points in front of Arsenal, who is in second place, and 4 points in front of City, in third place.
Brighton player Danny Welbeck scored the first goal after 84 seconds of a counterattack, which he crowned with a powerful shot from inside the penalty area.

Liverpool returned to the match with Luis Diaz’s equalizer in the 27th minute, after Brighton’s Joel Veltman failed to clear a corner kick, and the Colombian winger succeeded in putting it into the net.

Diaz thought he had scored the third goal 6 minutes after Salah’s goal, but the referee canceled the goal due to offside in a decision confirmed by the video assistant referee, and Salah almost scored from a counterattack in the 74th minute, but he shot at the goalkeeper.
In the 86th minute, substitute Adam Lallana, the Brighton player, fired a shot towards his former team’s goal, but it came wide, and the Brighton goalkeeper brilliantly blocked an attempt from Salah in the last minute of regular time.
