Barcelona received good news about the possibility of signing Spanish international Dani Olmo, the Leipzig star, during the current summer Mercato.
“Dani has value, he is an exceptional player, and we are ready to talk to whoever wants him,” Leipzig’s new sporting director Marcel Schäfer said at a press conference on Tuesday.
“I think it’s good that he arrived early (to the team camp), this is very ideal and professional, everything else will appear in the talks, in the coming days,” he added.
Olmo, 26, has a contract with Leipzig until the summer of 2027, and he held a meeting with coach Marco Rose after returning to the team camp in preparation for the new season.
Leipzig is targeting a fixed fee of 47 million euros, plus 13 million in variables, while Barcelona wants to reduce the financial consideration, in light of its major financial crisis.
