The Palestinian commented Wissam Abu Ali Al-Ahly club striker, after the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) approved his right to represent the Palestinian national team during the coming period.
Wissam Abu Ali wrote via his Instagram story: “I am proud and honored to be able to represent this country…it is for every Palestinian there.”

The Palestinian Football Association announced the approval of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) for the eligibility of Wissam Abu Ali, the Al-Ahly club striker, to represent the Palestinian national team during the coming period.
The Palestinian Federation issued an official statement, saying: “The Player Affairs Committee of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) issued a decision declaring the eligibility of the player Wissam Abu Ali to represent our national team.”
He added: “This decision came based on the request submitted by the Palestinian Football Association, and Abu Ali’s desire and request to change his federation from Danish to Palestinian.
He continued: “Abu Ali is currently competing in the Egyptian Premier League, with Al-Ahly Club, and he previously played professionally in the Swedish Premier League and the Danish Super League.”
Al-Ahly had signed Wissam Ben Ali, coming from the Swedish club Sirius, during the last winter transfer market.
The Palestinian team is ranked second in Group Nine in the double qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and 2027 Asian Nations Cup, with 7 points, behind leaders Australia with 12 points.
