On February 8, 2023, the 2022 Annual Summary Meeting and New Semester Work Seminar of the School of Management and Engineering of Nanjing University was held in the 104 Lecture Hall of Xiexin Building. The Party and administrative leadership team and all teaching staffs attended the meeting, which was chaired by Chen Lili, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee.
At the morning summary conference, a retirement ceremony for faculty and the presentation of the 2022 Ruihua Teacher Ethics Award were held first. On behalf of the College, Chen Lili read out a tribute to Chen Wei, the former Party Secretary of the School, and Xu Weihong, a teacher of the school, who retired in 2022. The teacher representatives offered flowers to the two teachers. Mr. Chen Zhiyun, S Party Secretary of the School, announced the decision to recognize the winners of the 2022 Ruihua Teacher Ethics Award for the School, the members of the party and administrative leadership team presented the award certificates to the teachers who won the teaching, research, ideological, practical, and service awards, and called on all teachers in the school to learn from the advanced educators.
In the report session, members of the party and government team made a summary report on their work in 2022 in turn. Chen Zhiyun reported on the work of the College in the year 2022, from continuing to do a good job of inspection and rectification, promoting the development of the College, strengthening the construction of cadres, providing a strong team guarantee for the development, promoting the construction of teachers' style and first resources, providing a solid guarantee for the development of talents, strengthening the construction of new grassroots, providing a solid organizational guarantee for the development, implementing the propaganda and ideological work, and providing a solid ideological guarantee for the development. Dean of the School of Management and Engineering Yu Honghai summarized the administrative work of the College in 2022 from eight aspects: adjustment of discipline development strategy and construction effectiveness, construction and development of faculty, optimization and adjustment of organizational structure, reform of talent training, breakthrough in scientific research, information construction, alumni and development work, and construction of hardware facilities.
Yu Honghai pointed out that 2022 was a year of hard work, innovation, growth and breakthrough for the college. In this year, under the joint leadership of the party and government team and the joint efforts of all teachers in the college, the college achieved the strategic adjustment of discipline planning and set up the goal of creating a big first-class discipline of management science and engineering that integrates and integrates control science and intelligent engineering. Chen Lili summarized the student work in 2022 from the aspects of ideological and theoretical education and value leadership, party and class construction, academic style construction, daily student affairs management, mental health education and counseling, online ideological and political education, campus crisis response and employment work. Vice Dean Chen Chunlin summarized the work of undergraduate teaching plan implementation and teaching reform, experimental teaching management and laboratory construction, and student innovation and entrepreneurial practice. Vice Dean Chen Caihua summarized the work of the College in the areas of scientific research management and breakthroughs, international exchange and cooperation, information technology construction and postgraduate enrollment management.
Liu Haifei, Chairman of the College's branch union, gave the annual work report for 2022 on behalf of the union. Liu Huimin, Xu Wei, Liu Haifei and Li Huaxiong, department heads, gave the annual presentation on behalf of the Department of Complex Engineering Management, Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Management, Department of Financial Technology and Engineering and Department of Control Science and Intelligent Engineering respectively, and Ning Yan, Director of the Centre, gave the annual presentation on behalf of the MEM Education Centre.
In the afternoon work seminar of the new semester, Yu Honghai, on behalf of the Party and Government team of the College, firstly reported and explained in detail the strategic plan of the College for the development of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the objectives and tasks of the term of office of the administrative leadership team. He pointed out that the nature of the afternoon meeting was a retreat seminar, which required everyone to pool their wisdom, concentrate their efforts, unify their thoughts and form a consensus, so as to clarify and formulate the development goals and strategies of the college together.
On this basis, Yu Honghai further reported on his thoughts on the focus of the College's work in the new semester. He pointed out that the theme of the College's work this semester is focus, and put forward a clear task of 3+3, including three landmark tasks and three key tasks. The three landmark tasks are to promote the cultivation of cross-composite talents by relying on experimental classes, to build a complex system management platform and autonomous knowledge system, and to carry out social services for the major strategic needs of the country; the three key tasks are to build a first-class brand of MEM, to optimize the construction of faculty and related policies and systems, and to upgrade and breakthrough the experimental teaching platform systematically.
Afterwards, all staff members discussed in groups with the four departments and administrative services, and put forward suggestions for optimization and improvement.
During the meeting, the annual assessment of middle-level cadres and the probationary assessment of the administrative team were also conducted according to the work requirements of the Organization Department of the Party Committee of the university.
