Al-Hilal secured its nineteenth title in the Saudi Football League, with a broad victory over its guest, Al-Hazm, 4-1, on Saturday in the thirty-first stage.
The pole of the capital, Riyadh, raised its score to 89 points, 12 points ahead of its closest pursuer and rival, Al-Nasr, which includes the fifth-best player in the world, Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, three stages before the official conclusion of the league.
Serbian Alexander Mitrovic (15 from a penalty kick and 45 + 3), Ahmed Al-Juwaid (39 fouls in his team’s goal), and the other Serbian Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (45 + 6) scored Al Hilal’s goals, and Fayez Salmani (34) scored Al Hazm’s goal.
Al Hilal, which achieved its fourth title in the last five seasons, is experiencing an exceptional season in the local league, as it has not lost any match so far in a series of 31 matches, winning 29 (including 24 consecutive victories) and drawing two.
Al Hilal, which lost its Brazilian star Neymar to injury last October, also became the first team to score 95 goals in one season, and only conceded 20 goals as the strongest defense in the league.
Al-Zaeem also became the first team to score 89 points in one season, with three matches remaining until the end of the competition.
