Astronomically… the first day of Ramadan 2024 is Monday… and its crescent will be born tomorrow

According to astronomical calculations carried out by the Sun Research Laboratory at the Institute headed by Dr. Yasser Abdel Hadi, the crescent of the month of Ramadan for the year 1445 AH will be born immediately after the conjunction occurs at exactly 11:02 AM local Cairo time tomorrow, Sunday 29 Shaaban 1445 AH corresponding to 3/10/2024 AD (day Vision).

The new crescent remains for 12 minutes after sunset on that day (sighting day) in Mecca and 14 minutes in Cairo, and in the rest of the governorates of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the new crescent remains in their skies for periods ranging between (13 – 15 minutes).

As for Arab and Islamic capitals and cities, the new crescent remains after sunset on that day for periods ranging between (4 – 22 minutes), and thus the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan 1445 AH astronomically falls on Monday 3/11/2024 AD.

The month of Ramadan is the ninth month in the lunar year, and it comes after the month of Shaban, followed by the month of Shawwal, and God Almighty has favored it over the rest of the months of the year. Because it is one of the pillars of Islam, and its fasting is obligatory for every Muslim, and on the authority of him the Prophet – may God bless him and grant him peace – said: (Islam is built on five things: bearing witness that there is no god but God, and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, establishing prayer, paying zakat, and performing Hajj to the House. ،، And fasting during Ramadan.

The Hijri months are: “1 Muharram – 2 Safar – 3 Rabi’ al-Awwal – 4 Rabi’ al-Akhir – 5 Jumada al-Awwal – 6 Jumada al-Akhir – 7 Rajab – 8 Shaban – 9 Ramadan – 10 Shawwal – 11 Dhul-Qa’dah – 12 Dhul-Hijjah.”
