Darwin Nunez scored a goal in stoppage time to lead Liverpool’s uprising to achieve a valuable 1-0 victory over host Nottingham Forest, strengthening its lead in the English Premier League on Saturday.
Liverpool raised its score to 63 points from 27 matches, putting it four points ahead of Manchester City, the defending champion, who faces Manchester United in a summit match tomorrow, Sunday.
In another match, German Timo Werner scored his first goal with Tottenham Hotspur, leading the home team’s uprising to a 3-1 victory over its guest Crystal Palace, reviving its hopes of ending the season in the top four of the English Premier League today, Saturday.
The former Chelsea striker, on loan from RB Leipzig, scored the first goal with a shot from close range in the 77th minute, canceling out Palace’s lead through a wonderful free kick brilliantly executed by Eberechi Eze.

The victory raised Tottenham, in fifth place, to 50 points from 26 matches, two points behind Aston Villa, fourth in the standings.
As for Chelsea, it rose to a 2-2 draw against its host Brentford thanks to a goal scored by Axel Disasi with a header in the 83rd minute.
Chelsea took the lead with a precise header by Nicholas Jackson in the 35th minute, but the home team seemed on its way to settling the match after Mads Rorslev pounced on a ball that the defense did not clear inside the Chelsea penalty area and put it into the net in the first minutes of the second half.
With a wonderful double strike, Yoan Wesa scored the second goal for the home side in the 69th minute, before Chelsea player Cole Palmer played a cross that Disasi took advantage of to equalize.

Newcastle opened the scoring when Gordon started a counterattack and then sent a pass to Bruno Guimarães inside the penalty area. The Brazilian shot a ball that was cleared by defender Maximilian Kellmann, reaching Isak, who headed it into the net.
As the rain fell, Gordon doubled the lead when he capitalized on a mistake after Wolverhampton goalkeeper Jose Sa attempted to block a low cross, and the Newcastle winger found the ball in front of him and shot into the goal.
Wolverhampton tried to come back in the result, but Newcastle’s defense held firm, while goalkeeper Martin Dubravka blocked a series of balls before Liveramento scored a goal with an individual effort in an unexpected way in stoppage time, when he shot the ball into the net while falling to secure the three points.
As for West Ham, they managed to achieve an exciting 3-1 victory over Everton.
Tomas Soucek and Edson Alvarez scored two goals in stoppage time to lead West Ham United to a 3-1 victory over Everton at Goodison Park, keeping the latter battling relegation fears while the London club continued its quest to qualify for a European competition next season.
Striker Beto missed a penalty kick in the first half, which was saved by West Ham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, who was excellent throughout the match, but Beto put his team ahead in the 56th minute before Kurt Zouma equalized for the visiting team.
