Officially: Chelsea renews its player’s contract until 2026

Chelsea announced the renewal of the contract of its young star, Alfie Gilchrist, until 2026, with the option to extend for an additional year.

The Chelsea academy graduate was promoted to the first team this season under the leadership of Mauricio Pochettino and participated in 12 matches with the first team.

Gilchrist said after signing his contract with Chelsea: “Signing this contract with Chelsea is a huge achievement for me and my family.”

He added: “It was self-evident, and every time I sign a contract here, I feel that it is more beautiful and more beautiful, but now I want to keep moving forward and keep improving.”

While the Chelsea Sports Department and its representatives, Stewart and Winstanley, commented on renewing the player’s contract: “We are pleased to award Alfie this new contract at Chelsea.”

He added: “It has been our pleasure to see him develop at the club by breaking into the first team this season and we look forward to seeing him progress further in the coming years.”

Gilchrist was a Chelsea fan during his childhood, joined the club’s academy when he was under 11 and moved through the age groups at Cobham, the club’s official centre.
