Books – Muhammad Qadous:

The nights of Ramadan are full of joys and blessings that many are keen to gain by marking them with obedience and remembrance of God, and among those obediences is the Tarawih prayer, and after the obligatory evening prayer, Muslims in mosques and homes perform the Tarawih prayer, which is a confirmed prophetic Sunnah. Masrawy monitors the most prominent information about the Tarawih prayer, its usual number, and its rulings. .

Its ruling and conditions of residence:

Tarawih prayer is considered a confirmed Sunnah from our Master, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. The Companions, may God be pleased with them, and the nation – after him – were keen to perform it and gather for it. Because of its great reward and grace; It was reported that the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said: “Whoever observes Ramadan out of faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” [مُتَّفق عليه].

The scholars emphasized that a mosque is not a requirement for its establishment, and it is permissible for a Muslim to read in it whatever he wants from the Holy Qur’an, without any limit to the length of the reading in it. Some scholars have recommended completing the Qur’an in it, and it is permissible for its imam to read from what he has memorized or from a Qur’an.

Number of rak’ahs:

As for the number of its rak’ahs, there are opinions, all of which are lawful, including:

* Her prayer with Witr is three rak’ahs, eleven (11) rak’ahs

* Her prayer with Witr is performed with three rak’ahs, thirteen (13) rak’ahs

* Her prayer with Witr is three rak’ahs, twenty-one (21) rak’ahs.

. * Her prayer with Witr is three rak’ahs, twenty-three (23) rak’ahs

What indicates that the performance of Tarawih prayer is not restricted to a specific number of rak’ahs is the hadith of Ibn Omar – may God be pleased with them both – that a man asked the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, about the night prayer, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “The night prayer is two by two, so if One of you was afraid of dawn, so he prayed one rak’ah, which would make what he had already prayed sufficient for him.”

Thus, many jurists rely on the fact that limiting it to 11 rak’ahs in Tarawih prayer is a Sunnah narrated by our Noble Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, and if it exceeds that, it is permissible according to Sharia law and the Muslim will be praised for it.
