Cristiano Ronaldo scored a goal from a penalty kick to lead Al-Nasr to a 1-0 victory over its host Al-Ahly, returning to victories in the Saudi Professional League, on Friday.
Coach Luis Castro’s team, which achieved victory after one loss and one draw in the league, raised it to 56 points, 9 points behind Al Hilal, which will face Damak on Saturday. Al-Ahly’s balance froze at 47 points in third place.
Ronaldo scored the only goal of the match in the 68th minute from a penalty kick awarded by the referee following an intervention by Al-Ahly defender Roger Ibanez on Sami Al-Naji.

Ronaldo became the third player to score in the first and second round matches between Al-Ahly and Al-Nasr, after his injured teammate Anderson Talisca and Mohamed Al-Sahlawi, his former team player.
Franck Kesé had a chance to equalize the score 5 minutes before the end with a header, but Al Nasr goalkeeper David Ospina easily blocked it.
Al-Ittiqaq is tied with Al-Ta’i
Al-Ta’i tied 1-1 with its guest, Al-Ettifaq, raising its score to 22 points, but it remained in 16th place, one point behind the safety zone, while Al-Ittifaq scored 35 points to advance to sixth place temporarily.
Carl Toko Ekambi scored the lead goal for Al-Ettifaq in the 18th minute after receiving a cross pass from Hamdan Al-Shamrani and putting it into the net from close range.

Virgil Messidjan equalized for Al-Tai in the fourth minute of stoppage time in the first half when he received a long throw-in inside the penalty area and shot it forcefully directly into the Al-Ettifaq net.

Al-Ettifaq played with 10 players after Demari Gray was sent off in the seventh minute of stoppage time for the match.
In another match, Riyadh imposed a 1-1 draw on its host Al-Fayhaa, and Al-Fayhaa raised its score to 32 points in eighth place, while Riyadh occupies 14th place with 24 points.
Al-Fayhaa’s goal came in the 30th minute when Henry Onyekuru raced towards the goal and fired a low shot into the Riyadh net.
Then Knowledge Musona equalized for Riyadh in the 64th minute with a powerful shot from close range.
