The Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, ordered the appointment of Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as Prime Minister, and charged him with nominating members of the new government.
Sheikh Muhammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah submitted the resignation of his government to the Emir of the country on the sixth of April, after announcing the results of the parliamentary elections that Kuwait witnessed on the fourth of this month.
This came about four months after the Kuwaiti government submitted its resignation to the new Emir of the country, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, shortly after he was sworn in before the National Assembly and directed sharp criticism of the legislative and executive authorities.
It is noteworthy that Kuwait witnesses from time to time government resignations or ministerial reshuffles, as a result of the insistence of representatives in the Kuwaiti Parliament to question ministers.
The relationship has always been tense between the National Assembly and successive governments in Kuwait, which is what distinguishes this small country, due to the ability of representatives to object and question, which is rare in its Gulf surroundings.
