The Customs Authority announced on its official website today, Thursday, the price of the customs dollar to record 49:56 pounds, after the increase of the dollar in banks yesterday.
The “customs dollar” is an economic term that expresses the price of the dollar against the pound that customs authorities use to determine the value of imported goods in order to calculate customs duties based on it.
Yesterday, Wednesday, the price of the dollar in banks exceeded 50 pounds, after the Central Bank of Egypt raised the interest rate in an extraordinary meeting by about 6%, before it fell below the level of 50 pounds in a number of banks today, Thursday.
The central interest rate rose after the increase to 27.25% for deposits and 28.25% for lending.
