In another match, Manchester United regained its balance and made up for losing the derby match against Manchester City (1-3) in the last round, after succeeding in defeating Everton with two clean goals.
Wolverhampton also beat its guest Fulham (2-1), and the match between Crystal Palace and Luton Town ended in a draw (1-1), as well as Bournemouth and Sheffield United (2-2).
