Church: 3 monks were martyred in the Monastery of St. Mark the Apostle in South Africa in an armed attack

The Coptic Orthodox Church announced that three monks were subjected to a criminal attack today in the Coptic Monastery. Monastery of Saint Mark the Apostle And Saint Bishop Samuel the Confessor of Johannesburg, South Africa.

The accident resulted in the martyrdom of the three monks:

– The hegumen monk Thekla Samueli, representative of the Diocese of South Africa.

– Monk Justus Ava Marcus.

– Monk Mina Ava Marcos.

The church explained in a statement that the relevant agencies moved to the monastery and began their work to uncover the circumstances of the incident. The Egyptian ambassador in Johannesburg also went to the monastery to follow up on the situation.
